Created in October 2002 Science Festival School is the first full-time biology popularisation institution in Poland. Our aims are to conduct educational activities popularizing biology in Poland (by organizing open lectures, workshops for students and all interested people, courses for biology teachers, and exhibitions) and to improve biology education and awareness of biology in society. The founders are respected biological institutes: International Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology (IIMCB, www.iimcb.gov.pl), Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS (IBB, www.ibb.waw.pl) and Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology PAS (NIEB, www.nencki.gov.pl). In April 2004 Warsaw Agricultural University (www.sggw.waw.pl) joined the founders' institutions.
